Debra Brittain Davenport, PhD, TEP-C, CFT, is the Founder and Director of The Davenport Institute, a “well-being practice” that provides personal and professional development, career and life coaching, and The Emergence Process® (an innovative healing and wellness therapy).
Dr. Davenport is the creator of the Certified Professional Mentor®designation and certification program (available through The Davenport Institute). Certified Professional Mentoring launches clients to the pinnacle of their success – fast – utilizing a proven and highly effective approach.
Dr. Davenport has been a recurring guest expert on the “Dr. Phil” show, and she served as the corporate color-branding spokesperson for the Panasonic global brand. She regularly provides professional image consulting to professionals, celebrities, and executives. Dr. Davenport also has experience as a syndicated business columnist and contributing author for the book, Some Leaders Are Born Women.

As a member of the graduate and doctoral faculties at Purdue, Johns Hopkins, Walden, National and West Virginia universities, Dr. Davenport teaches an array of courses in the areas of personal branding, organizational psychology, human behavior, communication, and organizational development. Additionally, she participates on several doctoral committees as a subject matter expert. She also serves as the Graduate Practicum Preceptor at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Davenport holds various wellness certifications, as well as certification in The Emergence Process® and Certified Fitness Training.

Dr. Davenport obtained her BA and MA in Communication Arts from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, and her PhD in Education (with a specialization in communication) from the Empresarial Business University in San Jose, CR (US degree equivalency, NACES). She is a sought-after subject matter expert and media resource.
